2017 All-Star Award Winners

The NSGA All-Star Awards recognize the outstanding accomplishments and contributions made within the sporting goods industry during the previous year, honoring companies that exhibit behaviors that should be recognized and repeated throughout the industry.

Community Collaboration – The Community Collaboration All-Star Award recognizes businesses that go above and beyond in their support of community activities, organizations and/or events.

The 2017 Community Collaboration winner is Fleet Feet Sports Baton Rouge for its grassroots relief efforts during the summer flooding in and around Baton Rouge, Louisiana. What began as a simple plan by Fleet Feet Sports Baton Rouge store owner Michelle Forte to distribute shoes to flood victims, quickly placed her at the center of a larger relief effort, ultimately donating more than 10,000 pairs of shoes to those who lost everything.

“I am truly humbled and honored that the NSGA All-Star Award Committee has chosen Fleet Feet Sports Baton Rouge as the winner of the Community Collaboration All-Star Award,” Forte said. “This was certainly a group effort with volunteers, employees, other Fleet Feet Sports stores and of course, the generosity of our vendors, that we could help out the community as we did.”

Industry Catalyst – The Industry Catalyst All-Star Award recognizes companies that implement measures to advance and spark innovation in the sporting goods industry, raising the standards of excellence through innovation.

The 2017 Industry Catalyst winner is D3O, a component company specializing in impact protection and shock absorption. D3Ocontinues to be a pioneer in the sporting goods industry, providing ground-breaking technology that can be used mainstream to help athletes and their equipment stay safe. D3O impact protection technologies were born out of the sports market and we are honored to be recognized by NSGA,” Louise Wilson, Head of Marketing & Communications at D3O, said. “This award further validates our ongoing commitment to keep athletes safe in sport through the development of innovative, high performance protective solutions with our global partner brands."
