John C. Clark Jr., of Clark Sporting Goods,Passes Away at 69


John C. "Jack" Clark Jr., a former owner of Clark Sporting Goods in Fayetteville, N.C., passed away Sept. 3 at the age of 69. Clark had battled kidney cancer.

Clark's father started Clark Sporting Goods in 1938. John Clark Jr., was an owner of the business until recent years and he was involved with numerous business and civic organizations. He earned his Bachelor's degree in mathematics from Wake Forest University and did his graduate study in business at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

A memorial service was held on Sept. 5 at the Highland Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville.
