Rules • March 2, 2022

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA (March 2, 2020) – The Washington State University Sports Science Laboratory has advised the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) that the BBCOR decertification process has been implemented for the 33-inch model Louisville Slugger Meta Composite bat.

Effective immediately, this bat (33-inch length Louisville Slugger Meta Composite bat) should be considered a non-compliant bat. This is pursuant to NFHS Baseball Rules 1-3-2d and 7-4-1a. The manufacturer has been advised that it has the right to appeal this decision.

Anyone who has questions should contact B. Elliot Hopkins, NFHS Baseball Rules Editor/National Interpreter at ehopkins@nfhs.org or the NFHS headquarters at (317) 972-6900.

The NCAA also removed the 33-inch Louisville Slugger Meta Composite bat from its approved-for-NCAA-sanctioned-play bat list.
