2025 Sporting Goods Industry Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

The Sporting Goods Industry Hall of Fame was created in 1955 by the NSGA Board of Directors to honor the pioneers, innovators and leaders who built the sporting goods industry and to help recognize and encourage excellence within the industry.

The Hall of Fame has evolved with the industry since its inception. See how we celebrated this year’s inductees at the annual Sporting Goods Industry Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

When John Cardinal was running Cardinal’s Sport Center, headquartered in Lubbock, Texas, he always found a way to help kids who did not have the means to get the equipment, shoes and support they needed to participate in sports.

That type of care Cardinal exhibited for his customers en route to building a successful retail and team dealer business led to his selection for induction with the Class of 2025 of the Sporting Goods Industry Hall of Fame.

Chris Considine’s philosophy of “honor the past and lead to the future” served him well in his 40-plus years in the sporting goods industry. Considine joined Wilson Sporting Goods in 1982 after graduating from Miami (Ohio) University as a sales planning assistant and accelerated the company’s success in a variety of executive roles that included serving as President from 2005-14.

Selling snow sports equipment to Florida snowbirds would not appear to be a great business model. E.J. “Ned” Hamilton proved otherwise as he opened multiple Peter Glenn Ski & Sports shops in the Sunshine State and in Georgia, Arizona, California and Alaska. Hamilton also made tremendous contributions to skiing growth.
