PRAIRIE DU SAC, WISCONSIN (May 11, 2019) – Mueller Sports Medicine announced it is the official sponsor of The World Federation of Athletic Training and Therapy (WFATT). The 2019 WFATT World Congress was held May 11-12 in Makuhari Messe, Japan.
The WFATT is mandated to be the voice and face of athletic therapy and to advocate for the profession with other international organizations such as the International Olympic Committee. The WFATT was formed in 2000. Under the leadership of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA), the main purpose of WFATT was to provide a forum for health care professionals to exchange ideas, treatment techniques and knowledge.
WFATT’s stated vision was to be “an organization of associations whose goal is to improve healthcare for athletes and physically active individuals.” This concept was modified in 2016 to “Athletic Training & Therapy will be recognized as an essential part of multidisciplinary healthcare teams worldwide.”
