Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO Act) of 2023
HR 20/S 567
Reintroduced in 2023, labor legislation known as the Protecting the Right to Organize Act of 2023 (PRO Act) (HR 20/S 567) would strengthen protections for workers seeking to form a union and includes a number of additional costs to employers.
The House of Representatives passed this legislation in 2021, but it failed in the Senate due to lack of support. A retailer may find this legislation to be an interference to business operations as it includes the forced disclosure of employees’ personal information to union organizers, the repeal of right-to-work statutes nationwide and the end of private ballots in union elections.
