This legislation would ban dominant platforms such as Amazon from favoring their own products and services over those of their competitors. It also contains language to address the platform’s use of nonpublic data obtained from use of the platform. The bill passed in the Senate Judiciary Committee, however, lobbying activity from opponents has vastly increased on Capitol Hill which has slowed the momentum of the legislation.
NSGA supports legislation that provides a level playing field for competition and curbs abuse of dominance in the marketplace.
