NSGA Reaffirms Commitment to Support Canadian Sporting Goods Industry

Featured, NSGA News • March 14, 2025

DOWNERS GROVE, ILLINOIS (March 14, 2025) – An open letter to our friends and neighbors north of the border:

The National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA) represents owners and operators of more than 21,000 retail and dealer storefronts in the United States. As a trade association conducting business in the sporting goods industry, we also have deep and meaningful relationships with Canadian retailers, dealers, distributors, manufacturers, and suppliers.

We believe it is appropriate and timely to reaffirm our commitment to support these honorable and capable business leaders. Members of the Canadian Sporting Goods Industry are represented on our board of directors, regular thought leadership contributors and inductees in the Sporting Goods Industry Hall of Fame. They provide guidance and insight into the inner workings of the sporting goods industry, including snow sports and hockey. They have proven themselves reliable business partners time and time again as our organization and its members have benefitted from their knowledge, experience, and wisdom to improve our own business environment.

We have enjoyed a collegial, collaborative, and fruitful relationship with representatives of the Canadian Sporting Goods Industry and desire to continue those positive attributes. We appreciate our relationship and would like to continue advancing our mutual interests.

The qualities reflected in this letter represent the best of what should be expected from friendly neighbors and longtime business partners, on both sides of the border.

Let’s get back to growing our business together.

With an eye toward a hopeful future,

Gordon Geiger, NSGA Chairman
