Champro Announces Summer 2025 Teamwork Grant Winners

Business • September 8, 2025

BANNOCKBURN, ILLINOIS (September 8, 2025) – CHAMPRO announced the winners of its Summer 2025 Teamwork Grant Program. The nationwide initiative helps break down barriers, allowing kids in under-resourced communities to play for youth teams, leagues and organizations.

This round, seven inspiring programs from across the country have been awarded grants:

  • Adaptive Sports Northwest – Portland, Oregon
  • Meadow Bridge Wrestling, Baseball and Softball – Alderson, West Virginia
  • Leisure City Modello Optimist Club of Florida, Inc. – Princeton, Floridia
  • Greene County Soccer Association – Linton, Indiana
  • Rolla Youth Baseball and Softball – Rolla, Missouri
  • United Community Centers, Inc. dba Manatee Mustangs – Bradenton, Florida
  • Wahoo Youth Sports – Wahoo, Nebraska

“We’re honored to stand alongside these incredible organizations and the young athletes they serve,” said Bill Hunt, CEO and founder of CHAMPRO. “Sports build confidence, character and community. By helping kids stay in the game, we’re investing in the next generation of leaders – both on and off the field.”

The need for this support is urgent. According to Project Play’s State of Play 2024 report, 16% of adults say they quit sports as children because their families couldn’t afford the costs. Those who couldn’t participate in sports or dropped out due to expenses reported poorer mental health compared to peers who stayed involved. Furthermore, data from NSGA’s Annual Sports Participation Report shows that roughly half of all team sports participants report coming from households with annual incomes of $100K+. The Teamwork Grant Program is CHAMPRO’s way of addressing this gap – helping ensure cost isn’t the reason a child misses out on the benefits of team sports.

“Every round of applications reminds us how many dedicated people are working tirelessly to keep youth sports alive in their communities,” Hunt said. “We’re inspired by their commitment, and CHAMPRO is proud to be part of their journey.”

The next round of Teamwork Grant applications opens Nov. 15, 2025. Stay connected with CHAMPRO on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn to be the first to know when applications go live.
