MONTREAL, CANADA (September 17, 2025) – Bauer Hockey and Bearmind announced a partnership to create the next generation of smart hockey helmets.
This partnership combines Bauer Hockey’s expertise in protective equipment with Bearmind’s advanced sensor and analytics platform to create gear that protects and delivers critical insights when they matter most. Together, they bring complementary technology and expertise to help advance head protection and in-game knowledge. Bauer and Bearmind are proud to announce such a groundbreaking partnership rooted in a shared commitment: protecting players through intelligent, data-driven solutions.
“As we continue our relentless pursuit of innovation around performance and protection, we are pleased to partner with Bearmind to advance our focus on head protection with an even greater focus on data and on-ice insights,” said Craig Desjardins, VP, Brand Management, Bauer Hockey. “We are looking forward to building this partnership in the years ahead to implement the data-centered learnings into our product line and bring more knowledge to our athletes.”
After extensive testing in Bauer’s RD&D facility in Blainville, Quebec, Bearmind’s head-impact monitoring technology has been selected for its ability to provide insights into helmet-impact dynamics with a level of precision that reinforces Bauer’s commitment to evidence-based innovation.
Already in use with several teams, the technology has demonstrated its value on the ice, helping organizations in the Canadian Hockey League and professional European Leagues better understand head impacts and their effect on players’ performance and injury risk. As part of this collaboration, Bauer will develop a CSA certified helmet with integrated Bearmind technology for the 2026–27 season and approves the use of Bearmind’s external sensors on its RE-AKT 155 helmet for use during the upcoming the 2025–26 season.
By unlocking athlete-specific data, this partnership will provide Bauer’s RD&D team with a deeper and more complete understanding of how impacts may occur and accumulate on the ice — not in theory, but in measurable reality. These insights will help pave the way for a new era of helmet development with the goal of being more adaptive and more protective than ever before.
“We’re proud to partner with Bauer to embed our technology into their helmets. Their deep experience and innovative approach make them an ideal partner as Bearmind continues to evolve,” said Mathieu Falbriard, CEO of Bearmind. “Together, we’re making it easier for teams and athletic trainers to adopt new technology without disrupting routines, all with the goal of supporting both athlete performance and health.”
