NSSRA Names Tom Fuerst New Chairman

DOWNERS GROVE, ILLINOIS (November 14, 2023) – The National Ski & Snowboard Retailers Association (NSSRA) named Tom Fuerst of Pedigree Ski Shop in White Plains, New York as the new Chairman the NSSRA Board of Directors. Fuerst replaces Tracy Gibbons, who is no longer involved in the retail side of the industry. 

Fuerst’s family has been a part of the snow sports industry for more than 60 years. 

“Tom has been a tremendous asset to the NSSRA Board and It is exciting to have someone with his experience and understanding of the snow sports industry leading NSSRA,” said Julie Pitts, NSSRA President. “His excellent working relationship with the NSSRA Board will help to address the challenges facing snow sports retailers.” 

Fuerst leads one of the biggest ski and snowboard retailers in the United States. Fuerst’s parents John and Jay started Pedigree Ski Shop in 1962 and it has four locations, with two in White Plains, one in Bedford Hills, New York and one in Stamford, Connecticut. Fuerst is also the Chairman of the Board of the Snowsports Merchandising Corporation (SMC) buying group. 

Gibbons had been with Sturtevant’s (Bellevue, Washington) and Christy Sports. 

“NSSRA appreciates Tracy’s dedication, service and ideas to improve the snow sports industry,” Pitts said. “We wish her the best as she begins a new professional chapter.”
