MONTREAL, CANADA (November 23, 2021) – The Sports Excellence Corporation (SEC) Head Office Team is currently on the road on a 37-day North American tour to connect with their network through various intimate regional summits. The tour began November 1, 2021, with the final leg of the tour finishing on December 7.
The 200 Strong Regional Summits kicked off in Surrey, British Columbia, and will end in Montreal, Quebec. The SEC Team are focusing much of their time in the United States in hopes to connect one-on-one with their American retailers. Minneapolis, Michigan, New Hampshire, and Connecticut (photo at right of Danbury Summit) are all at the top of the list for stops in the United States.
“The regional summit is a team-oriented approach that allowed us to interact with other stores and our vendors at a much more personal level. The format was very effective and fun, and we appreciate Sports Excellence’s creativity in their set up of these events,” says Dan Bush, owner of Hamden Sports located in Hamden and Cheshire, Connecticut.
In supporting their retailers, due to the effects of COVID-19, SEC made the decision to postpone its 2022 Hockey Congress to next year and has planned regional summits in lieu to connect the network of 200 Strong SEC retailers together in intimate group settings.
“Given the unique circumstances, particularly the labour shortage, it was just absolutely clear to us that we have to get into the marketplace and in front of our members personally; we are so excited to be in their local markets with them, and fully supported by our supplier partners, including CCM and Bauer,” said Jamie Coughlin, V.P. Retail Performance at SEC.
The jam-packed regional tour will get SEC retailers geared up and ready for its 2022 “Back to Hockey” season. Attendees will be joined by supplier representatives at every regional summit to offer a complete program overview, including product, marketing, and other corporate initiatives. Attendees will have a first-hand look at all the latest gear, clothing, and accessories from various SEC supplier partners. The regional summits are a way for the network to strengthen their ties with other members and to elevate their game together as one of the largest buying groups in North America.
