US Census Monthly Retail Trade Report – December 2024

DOWNERS GROVE, ILLINOIS (February 21, 2025) – According to the US Census Bureau’s Monthly Retail Trade Report, sales for sporting goods stores during the month of December 2024 reached $7.1 billion, representing an increase of 0.9 percent compared to the prior year. 

The December figure brought total sales for the category to $60.3 billion in 2024, down 3.8 percent from $62.7 billion in 2023.
