NOBLESVILLE, INDIANA (August 7, 2026) – Gared Performance Sports Systems (GPSS) announced it has been acquired by Gerflor, a worldwide company that specializes in flexible floor coverings.
“We are excited to share an important milestone in the history of Gared Performance Sports Systems,” GPSS announced in a news release. “Gerflor has acquired GPSS, bringing together two respected global organizations that share a commitment to innovation, quality, and serving the sports and athletic facility industry.”
“For more than 100 years, Gared Performance Sports Systems has been a trusted partner to dealers across North America. Together, we have equipped schools, universities, municipalities, recreation facilities and athletic venues with industry-leading basketball equipment, volleyball systems, divider curtains, wall padding and custom athletic facility solutions. Your partnership has been instrumental in helping us reach this milestone, and we sincerely thank you for your continued trust and support.
“Joining the Gerflor family represents an exciting new chapter for GPSS. By combining Gerflor’s expertise with GPSS’s century-long legacy in athletic equipment, we are strengthening our ability to provide more complete solutions for sports facilities while continuing to invest in the products, service and support you expect.”
Gerflor’s international headquarters are in Europe and its USA headquarters are located in the Chicago suburb of Bolingbrook, Illinois. Gerflor has been in business for more than 80 years and designs, manufactures and markets innovative, decorative and eco-responsible products for floor and their peripheries, according to the company’s website.
Gerflor’s portfolio includes flooring, logos and paint and adhesive products specifically for sports facilities. The company lists a presence in 100-plus countries.
GPSS was founded in 1922 as the Non-Pareil Manufacturing Company by Alvie Sandberg and produced striking (boxing) bag platforms and other gymnasium items. The company added basketball backboards and goals to its portfolio and changed its name to Gared after Non-Pareil was purchased by Nixdorff Krein Inc. GPSS has been located in Noblesville since 2003 and is expected to move into a new building in the Indianapolis suburb later this year.
“Most importantly, our commitment to our dealer network remains unchanged,” GPSS said in the release. “GPSS will continue to operate with the same dedicated team, trusted products and customer-focused support that have made us successful for the past century. As our organizations come together, we look forward to identifying new opportunities that create additional value for your business while continuing to respect and strengthen the dealer relationships that have been the foundation of our success.
“We are excited about what the future holds and look forward to growing together as part of the Gerflor family. Thank you for your continued partnership, your confidence in GPSS, and for being an essential part of our 100-year legacy. We look forward to building the next century of success together.”
