DALLAS, TEXAS (December 3, 2019) – The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has agreed to a five-year partnership extension with BAUER Hockey, the world’s No. 1 hockey equipment brand, to continue as the exclusive equipment supplier of the 27-team junior league.
Since 2016, BAUER has been the exclusive equipment provider of the NAHL, and through this new five-year extension, BAUER Hockey will continue to provide all NAHL teams with BAUER sticks, pants, gloves and helmets. For the NAHL, this strategic partnership continues to provide its players with the world’s most innovative product to ensure athletes can perform at their best during these important development years.
The agreement has also been updated to provide BAUER equipment for the players selected for Team NAHL, who will be annually competing in the Sirius Ice Hockey World Cup. The NAHL took part in the Sirius Ice Hockey World Cup for the first time in the Summer of 2019 and plan to continue to send a team for the foreseeable future, who will be outfitted in BAUER equipment as a part of the agreement.
“We are very happy to continue our partnership with BAUER Hockey as the exclusive equipment supplier to the NAHL,” said NAHL Commissioner and President Mark Frankenfeld. “BAUER is great product used by so many players in the NCAA and NHL which is why it is a perfect partnership for the great players in the NAHL. This long-term partnership is another example of how committed the NAHL ownership is to providing players in the NAHL the best product to develop on the ice.”
“The NAHL is a premier league that is advancing more and more players every year to elite NCAA programs and has a growing number of top alumni in the National Hockey League,” said Justin Aikins, Team Sales Manager for Bauer. “We’re proud to have been selected by such an elite league and to provide BAUER technology and equipment to NAHL players when it matters most during these development years. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the NAHL and its players.”
Celebrating its 45th season in 2019-20, the NAHL is the only USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier II Junior league boasting 27 teams in 16 states from across North America. The NAHL is unique in the fact that a vast majority of players begin their NAHL careers without an NCAA opportunity, but earn one through the course of their development in the league. During the 2018-19 season, the NAHL set a single-season record with 351 NCAA commitments, with more than 232 of those being NCAA Division 1 commitments. In addition, six players with NAHL experience were selected in the 2019 NHL Draft.
BAUER Hockey will also continue to serve as the preferred equipment supplier of both the Tier III Junior North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) and the Tier I Midget North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL).
