RIP-IT Introduces New Volleyball Shoe

Featured, Corporate • August 15, 2025

ORLANDO, FLORIDA (August 15, 2025) – RIP-IT Sports has introduced its new FUTURE Volleyball Shoe, which was built for female players and not retrofitted from men’s designs. RIP-IT expects the new show to result in measurable improvements in injury prevention and on-court performance.

In independent lab testing, according to RIP-IT, the FUTURE Volleyball Shoe outperformed leading competitors in ways that directly impact player safety and gameplay:

  • Improved hip and knee loading mechanics – for more powerful landings, higher jumps, and reduced over-reliance on the ankle.
  • 20% less knee collapse during landings – a key factor in reducing ACL injury risk
  • 13% less ankle roll during quick changes in direction – helping athletes stay grounded through game-speed direction changes.

Volleyball season is in full swing, and so are the countless hours of training from leaps, to dives and lightning-fast direction changes. According to NSGA’s Sports Participation in the US report, in 2024 volleyball was the second-most popular team sport in terms of total female participation at 6.7 million, trailing only basketball with 7.3 million. The 6.7 million total female participants in 2024 represents an increase of 10% compared to its 2019 level with 6.1 million participants. Volleyball is also now the No. 1 high school sport for girls participation in the U.S., with more than 470,000 in 2023, according to the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).

But beneath the excitement lies a sobering truth: female volleyball athletes face injury risks, particularly ACL tears and ankle rolls, at significantly higher rates than their male counterparts, according to the RIP-IT release. ACL injuries are 4–6x more common in female athletes. And while skill, training, and conditioning matter, the single most important piece of equipment to help mitigate these risks is often overlooked: the shoe.

Unlike most brands that still take a “shrink it and pink it” approach, RIP-IT designed and tested the FUTURE Volleyball Shoe with female volleyball players, using advanced motion capture to track every movement. The result? A shoe RIP-IT believes truly supports the explosive footwork, controlled landings, and long-term health of female athletes.
