US Census Monthly Retail Trade Report – December 2023

DOWNERS GROVE, ILLINOIS (February 26, 2024) – According to the US Census Bureau’s Monthly Retail Trade Report, sales for sporting goods stores during the month of December reached $7.1 billion, representing a decrease of 8 percent versus the prior year. 

The December figure brought total sales for the category to $63.8 billion in 2023, down 4.6 percent from $66.8 billion in 2022.
