Hurricanes Helene and Milton significantly altered the lives of many people in western North Carolina, Florida and the southeastern United States. Many families lost everything from these devastating storms and are looking for help with basic needs.
The National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA) has put together this listing of resources so members of the sporting goods industry can help those who have been impacted by the hurricanes. People affected by the devastating floods in the mountains of North Carolina need basics such as jackets, apparel, sleeping bags and other items for the cold weather that is coming.
The holidays are right around the corner and there are children who are wondering if they will be receiving any gifts. Inflatable balls such basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, etc…, can be a huge help.
In North Carolina, NSGA members Cook’s Sporting Goods in North Wilkesboro, Johnson-Lambe Co., in Raleigh and Ski Country Sports, with locations in Asheville, Banner Elk, Boone and Charlotte, are helping as shipping locations for donations. If you ship large quantities of items, please reach out to Mark Cook at Cook’s, Rhett Johnson at Johnson-Lambe, or Carrie Smithey at Ski Country to let them know. Make sure to mark the boxes with “HURRICANE DONATION” so their receiving departments know where to direct the donations.
